Raye-Lani Nyhuis : 4th Grade Teacher

We see their faces everyday, the men and women that work tirelessly as the weeks and months of this pandemic roll on. Some of us might be working from home, but many, many essential workers face daily challenges, everyday navigating safety and duty.

Last be certainly not least, This is my niece Raye-Lani who I am super proud of. She is a 4th grade teacher in Fort Worth, Texas and always brings a positive attitude to her class even through these trying times. Although you can’t see her smile through a blue mask, her eyes beam with joy and her students love her.
Raye-Lani states, "The pandemic has been a challenge for teachers. We had to change the way we do things and adapt to those changes while still giving our students a good education. It is a balancing act teaching to both kids at home and kids in the classroom. You need to give them both the same experience and keep it as normal as possible. You still want to have the bond with your students and help them through this rough time. . . And I enjoy seeing them everyday."
