Portrait of Shirley Chisholm

Michelle graduated from UTEP with a Bachelor in art and a minor in education. Michelle works with quick and vibrant line strokes. Color and expression are seen in her artwork as smooth and cohesive line work together to form personality in her portraits.

The inspiration for my artwork is my father and daughter. My father shows great strength and passion for his work in politics this is why I chose to represent the first black woman who worked hard to get to the top in government, because no matter the color of our skin we are heard and are one together.
