Mia is a jack of all trades and likes to experiment with many mediums. Mia has obtained her art degree from Belhaven University in Jackson, MS. is a published children’s book illustrator and a high school art educator for Ysleta ISD.

This next piece by Mia Ortiz is called Cosmic Queen that honors voting rights activist Stacey Abrams.

Stacey is portrait as standing tall on top of the world. She is mighty and fierce as she has navigated American politics over the years.

Stacey Abrams was a game changer for 2020. Abrams was instrumental for the  increased turnout among the Georgia’s Black, Latino and Asian voters that laid the groundwork for electing President Biden.  This beautiful woman inside and out has demonstrated the essence of never giving up. She strives for a better tomorrow and she amazes me.
