Since her retirement from teaching in 2006, Jean has been creating colorful artworks using a variety of  media. Her paintings and collages are often responses to current events as well as beautiful flowers and seascapes. Her artistic style is bright and colorful, curves and swirly. Her 3-D painted strips added to poured acrylic backgrounds are unique to her creative spirit.

Jean states, The inspiration for my artwork in this exhibit is the unrest and unfairness seen in our country for many years.

In this piece, ALL Blood matters, Long drips of paint in various skin colors cascade down over a background of deep red.
