BE : Portrait of Dana Scruggs

This art is a combination of styles.

Lesly states, I'm just a normal high school student who likes art and doesn't have a specific artistic style.

I’m inspired by people of color that fight for their rights everyday.

Through a collage of pictures and imagery I’ve created this uplifting piece in honor of a photographer named Dana Scruggs combined with the artistic style of Kehinde Wiley.

Dana Scruggs, is a model and the 1st Black photographer to shoot ESPN’S Body Issue. She is also the first Black person to shoot the cover of Rolling Stone Magazine in 50 years.

Lesly’s artistic inspiration is Kehinde Wiley's art style of adding floral motifs to his portraits of black and brown men and women. Kehinde has created awe inspiring portraits of important figures such as Barack Obama, as well as many, many worldwide incredible people.
