THE PATRIOTIC ART & AWARD EXHIBIT OPENING RECEPTION

This year’s exhibit is extra special as we honor retired Lt. Col. Robert “Bob” Chisolm for his lifelong military service. Lt. Col. Chislom has a distinguished history of military service in the U.S. Army that includes fighting in WWII, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. Bob’s bravery and courage served him well as he was injured in all three wars but continued to serve his country receiving numerous medals and recognition.

Another special element of the exhibit will be an art collaboration with kids and soldiers from Fort Bliss. Creating art is a wonderful and engaging activity for all ages and it will be an honor to display art from Fort Bliss soldiers and their families at the Crossland Gallery.

A special thank you to Robin Fox making this collaboration possible.

We hope artists of the El Paso community and Fort Bliss will enter the exhibit to celebrate

Saturday May 21, 2022 12-2pm

Encaustic painting is a mixed media technique that combines colored pigment with heated beeswax to create beautiful sultry artworks. Award winning artist Kirsten Jedamczik has developed her own style creating intimate landscapes that you can only dream about visiting. Please be our guest to see this unique technique demonstrated by Kirsten! You'll be glad you did!

"The Element of Ice" by Kirsten (on event poster) is currently on view in THE ELEMENTS (of nature) Art & Award Exhibit.

"An icy winter has come to these desolate hills as bare fragile trees dot the landscape. Heavy grey clouds hang over, ready to drop buckets of frozen "ice" on the land. As the cold of night sets in you feel a chill run down your spine. And that's the power of Kirsten's art & encaustics! Come see for yourself! Brrr!"
